Weekend Activities

Sausalito Arts Festival

Sausalito has been the focal point for artists for close to 200 years. Weekend painters first arrived by sailboat from San Francisco in the early 1800's to capture scenes of tall ships and nature against the majestic backdrop of the bay. Over one million visitors from throughout the world have attended the Sausalito Art Festival since its inaugural Event in 1952.

Today, the Festival draws over 34,000 art enthusiasts, museum curators and private collectors. Held over Labor Day weekend on Sausalito's waterfront, the Festival celebrates the virtuoso talents of the finest local, national, and international Artists. The Festival presents over 20,000 original works of fine art. 2012 marks our 60th Anniversary.

Bev and Eric's favorite places to eat

Sol Food

Delicious Puerto Rican food. Best place to grab lunch in San Rafael. Eric's favorite is the Bistec sandwich. Make sure you load up on the delicious hot sauce and have a limeade.

Royal Thai

Excellent choice for dinner. The sea bass special is amazing - crispy on the outside, melt in your mouth delicious on the inside. They make the best spicy shrimp salad. Also make sure to get the beef marinated in Thai spices.

Exploring San Francisco

San Francisco is an awesome place to visit. There are many great things to see and do throughout the city. Take a relaxing walk through Golden Gate park. Travel along the Embarcadero strip, pick up a bowl of clam chowder at Fisherman's Wharf, get entertained at Pier 39, and have a fudge sundae at Ghiradelli. You can also ride the cable cars into Chinatown, an excellent place to explore. Walk across the bridge or take a tour of Alcatraz.
